FAQ Longboard Skateboard Lights

How to put led lights on a skateboard?

It's super easy to use Eggboards skateboard lights. Just take the provided rubber band, wrap it around your trucks, and then tie it behind your longboard light.

There’s no need for straps, glue, or clip-on lights—a rubber band is all you need.

Note that our longboard lights are designed to shine ahead of your board, not underneath. To ensure this, the clip at the back of the light has a small notch. Attach the light so that it faces upward; this will project light forward, enhancing visibility for both you and nearby vehicles.

How to add rear light to skateboard?

Eggboards longboard skateboard lights come in a set of two: a front light (available in white or blue) and a rear light (red). Both can be installed easily in just two simple steps:

Wrap the provided rubber band around the trucks of your longboard or skateboard.

Tie the rubber band to the back of the Eggboards skateboard light.

The only thing to keep in mind is that our longboard lights are designed to illuminate the street ahead of your board (not underneath it). To achieve this, the back of the clip where the skateboard light is attached to the rubber band features a small notch. Make sure to tie the light to the rubber band so that it faces up, not down. This will cast light in front of you and make the road brighter, improving visibility for both you and the cars around you.

How to attach bike tail light to skateboard?

While we recommend using our longboard skateboard lights, you can also attach a bike tail light to your board. You’ll need a method to secure it to your skateboard trucks.

Eggboards skateboard lights come with a simple silicone band that keeps your light facing up, casting illumination in front of your board instead of underneath. If you opt for bike tail lights, a rubber band can achieve a similar result. Just ensure the light is tightly secured to the trucks, as vibrations can cause it to break.

Must a skateboarder have a light at night in any US state?

To our knowledge, there are no alternatives, but we strongly recommend using longboard skateboard lights for night cruising to enhance your visibility and see the road better. After all, you don’t want to hit that pesky pebble in the middle of the road!
